Project Manager Job Description:
Integrated BioTherapeutics seeks an experienced project manager to join their management team. The ideal candidate would have expertise in several areas of advanced product development of vaccines or other clinical products including infectious disease research, assay development, regulatory affairs, process development, cGMP manufacturing, and clinical testing. As project manager for a large federal contract, the applicant would oversee performance at a multi-site project that spans all stages of vaccine development. The applicant will be responsible for coordinating all the efforts both internal and subcontractors with regard to meeting milestones and timelines, arranging for the reports, setting up the meetings between the subcontractors and with the FDA.
The project's size and complexity will require good communication and a method for tracking the project's multiple activities and costs. The day-to-day and week-to-week communication channels between participating subcontracted organizations, and between the Project Manager and subcontractors, is a very important part of workflow throughout the product development plan. The applicant is expected to have intimate knowledge of the use of Microsoft® Project to generate Gantt charts and track of key activities for the project, based on the plans proposed within the contract. A combination of Gantt chart tracking and work breakdown schedule reporting will be used to ensure that the project goals for deliveries and costs are monitored and kept on target.
The applicant will establish a schedule of bi-weekly meetings with project team leaders (or combination of teams) from the subcontractors for the project. The goal of these meetings, either in person or by teleconference, will be to track the project against the original timeline and costs. Prior to the meeting, each project leader or designate will publish a summary of results including problem areas and an updated team Gantt chart. The applicant will help to determine deviations from the timeline or costs and help with recommendations to resolve the problems. The project manager will be responsible to publish minutes of each meeting with the summaries, Gantt charts, and action items.
Education and experience required: Applicant will possess at least a M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) and 5-10 years of program management experience in the area of advanced development of clinical products. Applicant will have strong references and provide support in their resume in the areas outlined in the job description.
