Research Assistant – Bacteriology

Integrated BioTherapeutics (IBT) seeks to hire a Research Assistant to conduct serological, microbiological and molecular biological laboratory procedures supporting the bacterial research group. Candidate will be expected to work independently/minimal supervision and be responsible for planning, organization and execution of laboratory tasks. Candidate will be expected to report results with accuracy and proper quality control compliance and assist in preparation of technical and scientific reports and presentations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare bacterial culture media, grow bacterial cultures, solutions and reagents

• Perform mammalian cell cultures and cell based assays such as cytotoxicity and toxin neutralization assay

• Perform serological assays such as ELISAs and toxins neutralization assays in blood, serum and plasma samples

• Review/QC and summarize data for reporting to the supervisor.

• Complete a variety of tasks to ensure smooth overall function of laboratory, including simple equipment maintenance, maintain accurate inventories and proper record keeping

• Comply with applicable safety procedures working with infectious microorganisms

Laboratory Research Assistant (Protein purification)

IBT seeks to hire a Laboratory Research Assistant to support protein purification efforts. Candidate will be expected to work independently and be responsible for daily organization and operation of laboratory tasks. Employee will be expected to review data to ensure accuracy and proper quality control compliance and assist in preparation of technical and scientific reports.


• Perform analysis and optimization of prokaryotic expression

• Perform upstream clarification steps including nucleic acid removal, concentration and buffer exchange

• Perform chromatographic separation steps including affinity, ion-exchange, mixed-mode and size exclusion chromatography

• Familiar with manual operation and programming of Akta Purification Systems and associated Unicorn software

• Perform assays including but not limited to ELISA, SDS-PAGE/Western Blot, protein analysis and measurement

• Maintain accurate and up to date records of development and work. Report results to management
